Our hearts are drunk with a beauty our eyes could never see.

~George W. Russell

Dear Johnny,

You get a lot of compliments.  Today a grumpy Post Office clerk said you are super cute.  Yesterday the lady at the bookstore said she's in love.  The day before a mom at the park said that you are too much, whatever that means.  You are a handsome boy, and I will be lying if I say that these compliments don't make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but let's get one thing straight - you are not growing up to be a narcissist   No sir.  I would rather teach you to see the beauty in the world around you, and inside others, than have you be too proud of your own appearance.  Good looks eventually fade, but the ability to find the good side of things is something that must be cherished until old age.

Still, not many folks can say they look as gorgeous on their passport photos :)
